Marjorie Victoria Christner (nee Woodward) of Wallaceburg, Ontario passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2026 at the age of 92. Marjorie was born September 6th, 1933 to William Woodward and Jennie Southgate. She is pre-deceased by her sisters Vera, Esther, Audrey, Eleanor and Susan.

Marjorie was married to Gordon Christner (d. 2025) for seventy three years until his passing last January.

Marjorie will be forever missed by Lesley (Ken) McGillivray, Janet, Stephen (Elizabeth), Julie (Ron) Ameloot, Eileen (Lee) Stanlick, Carol (Brian) Robinson, John (Lori – d. 2014), Peggy (Daniel) Kun, Michael (Shannon), Anthony (Todd) and Matthew. Her lasting legacy also includes twenty Grandchildren, twenty-four Great-Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandson.

After raising her youngest child to school-age, Marjorie embarked on her lengthy Nursing career at St Joseph’s Hospital, Sarnia where she provided compassionate care to all her patients until retiring at the age of 78. Her dedicated passion to Nursing inspired many generations in her family members to pursue careers in health care.

Her personal hobbies included camping trips with family and friends, listening to music, reading, crochet, baking, and tending to her gardens. She also delighted in cheering on her beloved Toronto sports teams.

In keeping with our Mother’s wishes, a private family service has been held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanaugh Funeral Home in Wallaceburg. Memories and condolences may be shared online at www.CavanaughFuneralHome.ca.
