It is with saddened hearts that the family of John William Mentanski announces his passing on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Stella Taborski. Loving father of Joan Mentanski. Treasured uncle of Marcy Anne Gosby (nee Braekevelt). He is reunited with his daughters Debbie and Lynda Mentanski. Cherished grandfather of Lydia and Natalya Sochan. Dear brother of Doris Lucia Braikevelt (nee Mentanski). Predeceased by his parents Stephen Mentanski and Annie Hudak Mentanski (nee Pasichnyk).
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home – London Line Chapel, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. with family and friends being received one hour prior from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
