The annual event is designed to promote careers in the skilled trades and support the region’s long-term workforce needs.

This year’s expo will run in two sessions. From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the event will welcome elementary and secondary school students. From 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the expo will open to the broader community, offering opportunities for jobseekers, career changers, and residents interested in learning more about skilled trades.

The Expo continues SLWDB’s focus on addressing the ongoing skills gap in Sarnia-Lambton. With a significant number of retirements expected across multiple trades by 2030, the event highlights career pathways and encourages interest in sectors such as electrical, plumbing, welding, HVAC, carpentry, automotive, construction, and hairstyling.

Attendees will have access to hands-on activity stations, live demonstrations, and interactive displays designed to showcase what work in the trades looks like. Industry professionals, training providers, and local employers will be available throughout the day to provide information and answer questions about job prospects and required training.

Last year’s event featured more than 30 exhibitors, and organizers expect strong participation again in 2025. Exhibitor opportunities remain available, and businesses or organizations wishing to take part can contact [email protected].
