Goaltender John Chartrand made history Wednesday night in Mooretown, setting a new franchise record for regular season wins. Chartrand stopped 36 of 38 shots to secure his 60th career victory as the Mooretown Flags doubled the Blenheim Blades, 4-2, in Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) action.
The milestone win surpasses the previous record of 59, held by Jake Wilkins, who played for the Flags from 2016 to 2020.
Jace Dupuis was the top scorer for the Flags, registering a goal and three assists. Goals were also scored by Lucas Ross, Casey Schouten, and Dylan Dupuis. Landon Marcy and Owen MacDonald each contributed two assists to the winning effort.
The victory marks the fourth straight win for the Flags, bringing their season record to 10-7.
The Mooretown Flags will next be on the ice when they host the Lakeshore Canadiens on Saturday, Nov 15th, at 7:30 p.m. at Mooretown Sports Complex.
