Aamjiwnaang First Nation is inviting its off-reserve members to a series of consultation sessions to discuss the Anishinabek Nation Governance Agreement, a pathway for the nation to reclaim its inherent right to self-government.
The sessions are intended to help members understand the agreement so they can make an informed decision that will impact generations to come. Representatives from the Anishinabek Nation will lead the presentations and be available to answer questions.
The in-person meetings are scheduled for three locations in November, with an online option also available:
Chatham: November 4th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Retro Suites Hotel.
Guelph: November 5th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hampton Inn.
Sudbury: November 6th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel.
Food and refreshments will be available at each session, and attendees will receive a $25 gas gift card.
Those wishing to attend must RSVP by 4:00 p.m. on October 24, 2025, to secure their spot. Organizers have advised that a session may be cancelled if there are insufficient RSVPs. To register or request more information, please contact the Governance Department at [email protected].
