With deep love and sadness, the family of Donalda "Donna" Bowman announces her peaceful passing on October 10, 2025, at Vision Nursing Home, at the age of 97. She was lovingly surrounded by her granddaughter Heather.
Donna was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mike Bowman, and her sons Gregory, Cameron, and Glenn MacMillan. She is survived by her daughter Judy Fex (Sylvio), son John MacMillan (Karen), grandchildren Heather Verhoeven (Jeff) and Justin Fex (Amanda), as well as many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A compassionate and determined advocate, Donna made a lasting impact on her community. She was a founding force behind the Head Injury Association of Sarnia-Lambton, an organization that continues to change lives to this day.
Donna will be fondly remembered for her love of crafts, her ever-present red lipstick, and her cherished glass of “dry dry dry” red wine.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Vision Nursing Home for their exceptional care and kindness during Donna’s final days.
Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home – London Line Chapel, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for a time of visitation and remembrance. A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home – London Line Chapel on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Lambton County, or a charity of your choice, in Donna’s memory (cheques only at the funeral home please).
