The Women's Interval Home of Sarnia-Lambton has announced the appointment of Corrie Henderson as its new Executive Director, effective Monday, September 29, 2025.
Henderson steps into the role bringing over 20 years of leadership experience within the non-profit sector, with a strong focus on women's health, safety, and empowerment.
Henderson's background highlights her deep commitment to the sector. She most recently served as the Executive Director of One Spark, a charitable organization she founded to help women who have experienced violence gain financial independence through entrepreneurship.
Her experience also includes a tenure as Managing Director of MindBridge Strategies, where she provided expertise in strategic, governance, and policy development to various non-profits, including several women's shelters across Ontario. Her dedication has been formally recognized with awards such as the Community Cares Award and a peer nomination for the provincial June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award.
"Corrie's experience and passion for women’s rights make her an ideal candidate for this role," said Emily Burden, Vice-Chair of the Board. The Board anticipates that under Henderson's leadership, the organization will "strengthen its reach and further its mission of building safer, healthier communities."
The Women’s Interval Home of Sarnia-Lambton offers vital services, including emergency shelter and crisis services, outreach, advocacy, and education. The organization supports individuals, families, children, and youth, working closely with community partners to break the cycle of abuse and promote meaningful social change through inclusive feminist approaches.
The organization will host its annual Walk a Mile event on Saturday, November 1st, at Lambton Mall. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the event. Interested parties can contact Caty at [email protected] for more information.
