The Canadian Remedial Action Plan Implementation Committee is hosting the third annual Honouring the St. Clair River evening on Thursday, October 23, 2025, and is inviting the public to attend. The free event aims to celebrate and educate the community on the ongoing efforts to restore the river.
The evening will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 447 in Corunna, starting at 5:30 p.m. Guests will receive a complimentary dinner and refreshments before a series of presentations begins.

The St. Clair River was designated an Area of Concern (AOC) in 1987 due to urban and industrial development. For over three decades, a collaborative effort involving the local community, First Nation communities, government, and industry has been working to improve the river's water quality and aquatic habitat to have it removed from the list of Great Lakes Areas of Concern.
