Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Marshall Gowland Manor, Betty Miriam Sharpe passed away at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Harry Sharpe, and later in life Dr. Walter Wren. Loving mother of Gregory (Nancy) Sharpe, Joe (Janet) Sharpe, and Kathy Brouwer. Cherished grandmother of Lee-Ann (Brian) Kerri-Anne (Gord), Ryan (Nicole), Lindsay, Sarah (Tyler), Emily (Chris) and predeceased by infant grandson Albert. Treasured great-grandmother of Zachary, Alexander, Cohen, Lilah, Nikolas, Tyler, Bryce, Liam, and Hudson. Dear sister-in law of Sally Dew and Joan Dew. Predeceased by her parents Basil and Miriam Dew, and her siblings, Bill, Dorothy, Garth, and Keith.
Betty’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She loved hearing stories of what her grandchildren were up to, celebrating their adventures, and later finding endless joy as great-grandchildren came along. She enjoyed simple pleasures like going out for meals, sipping her beloved Pepsi, cheering on the Sarnia Sting, and sharing her warmth and creativity through her knitting. Betty also treasured her time with the antique car club and her involvement with the Salvation Army, both of which gave her a strong sense of community. Her love, laughter, and dedication to those she cared about will always be remembered.
A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home – London Line Chapel, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation taking place one hour prior from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery.
