Golden K donates $4,000 to Literacy Lambton’s Train Your Brain program

Literacy Lambton has received a $4,000 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia-Lambton Golden K to support its Train Your Brain program for students in Grades 3 and 4.

Literacy Lambton has received a $4,000 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Sarnia-Lambton Golden K to support its Train Your Brain program for students in Grades 3 and 4.

The funds were raised through the Charitable Gaming program at Jackpot Time, Sarnia, where Golden K members volunteer as part of an initiative coordinated by the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association. Participating charities and non-profits receive a portion of the proceeds based on volunteer involvement.

The Train Your Brain program offers literacy support to early elementary students, and parents say it’s making a noticeable difference.

“Our son loved TYB, and we can see improvement in him,” one parent said. “His report card reflected what we were seeing. He couldn’t wait to be signed up again.”

“My child’s teacher and I have noticed increased confidence,” said another. “She is putting her hand up and understanding more in class.”

Literacy Lambton’s Executive Director Tracy Pound and Golden K’s c-Gaming coordinator Tony Wheeler marked the donation with a cheque presentation this month.
