Dear respected fellow Sarnian,
A year and eight months ago, an open house event was hosted to bring together leaders from the Sarnians entrusted to represent our community, on governmental/municipal level, as well as Church/Institutional level.
I believe it was a successful gathering overall as key speaker Dr. Munir facilitated a meaningful conversation regarding the situation in Palestine, and specifically Gaza.
We all left feeling an urgent sense to adapt an actionable moral stance as innocent lives were at stake.
657 days later and Israel’s brutal military campaign in Gaza has intensified, and they now resorted to starvation. Massacres have surged, and all humanitarian aid has halted, leaving over two million people literal starvation. Hundreds of infants—some just weeks old— and thousands of children have already died because Israel’s blockade has cut off food and baby formula. Mothers are too severely malnourished to produce breast milk.
I am calling on you to raise your voice and use your influence within our community to take a firmer stance and speak out against this blockade and genocide.
Please urge our local MPs to propose and support legislation that halts this slaughter and allows aid in.
The evidence and proof of war crimes, starvation, and crimes against humanity have never been more documented. Please take action to end the starvation of children.
Thank you,
Obadah Shadid
