The Sarnia Community Foundation (SCF) has welcomed a new Fund Developer, celebrated scholarship recipients, and passed $15 million in assets—marking a period of major growth for the 42-year-old organization.
“We look forward to the opportunities this position provides the SCF,” said board chair Andrew Douglas, introducing Amy Veysey to the team. Amy will focus on building relationships with donors and growing support for local charitable causes.
SCF now manages more than 100 named funds, offering scholarships, grants, and long-term support to community groups across Lambton County. Its newest scholarship—the Anne McFadyen Memorial—awards five graduating students from Great Lakes Secondary School $12,000 each to pursue post-secondary education.
Founded in 1983, SCF works to “grant to community charitable causes by growing and managing funds that will make a difference forever.” The foundation is currently seeking new board members and continues to invite residents to get involved, donate, or learn more about how to create a lasting legacy in their own community.
