Kinell Canada, a subsidiary of France’s Fétis Group, has officially opened its first North American facility in Petrolia, marking a significant expansion milestone for the global manufacturer.
Located at 260 Centre Street, the new facility specializes in wiring harnesses, cables, and box builds for specialty mobile equipment. It is expected to create 15 jobs in its first year of operation and serve original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across North America.
A grand opening event was held July 9 to celebrate the launch, which brings new automation equipment and proprietary software to the region. The company brings over two decades of experience working with OEMs in Europe on electrification and system automation projects.
“Kinell’s expansion into North America represents a key step in the company’s journey to provide a comprehensive ecosystem of solutions,” said Mike Bos, General Manager of Kinell Canada. “It’s also an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of Lambton County.”
Mayor Brad Loosley welcomed the company’s investment, calling it a boost to Petrolia’s manufacturing sector and a source of new opportunity for residents.
The move has also been applauded by the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership. CEO Matthew Slotwinski said Kinell’s arrival strengthens the region’s reputation in advanced manufacturing and aligns with local goals around low-carbon technology and innovation-driven growth
