It is with heavy hearts that the family of Diane Lesley Vale (née Ford) announces her peaceful passing on July 2, 2025, at Vision Nursing Home, at the age of 79.
Diane leaves behind the love of her life and devoted husband of over 59 years, Don Vale; children Barry (Dawn), Terry (Teri Ngo), and Tim (Dana Laplante); and cherished grandchildren Brandon, Joshua, Lily, and Jack. She also warmly welcomed Dana’s children, Sydney and Eric, into her heart and life as treasured members of her extended family. She is predeceased by her loving parents, Jack and Peggy Ford.
Graduating as a registered nurse in 1966 from Public General Hospital in Chatham, Ontario, Diane dedicated her professional life to caring for others, offering comfort and compassion to countless patients throughout her distinguished career. In retirement, she embraced the joys of life—spending summers by the pool, golfing with her friends and grandson, Brandon, and travelling to new destinations with her beloved Don.
Above all, Diane was most proud of her grandchildren and their remarkable achievements. She delighted in Brandon’s recent graduation from law school and his articling position in Toronto, Joshua’s dedication to chiropractic school, Lily’s outstanding accomplishments in sports, and Jack’s recent middle school graduation. Each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent watching them grow and succeed.
Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Vision Nursing Home for their exceptional support and compassion over the years, especially during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her memory to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home please).
In keeping with Diane’s wishes, a private gathering will be held to celebrate her life.
