After a hard fight, Larry passed away on June 24, 2025, peacefully at Bluewater Health in Sarnia. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary Margaret in 2023. Father of Kristin (Rick) Anjema and the late Chad Forbes. Dear brother of Lyn Forbes, Sue (Mike) Pierce, Bob Forbes, and the late Norma (Ken) Hyatt. Larry will be dearly missed by his friends Marg Kaldeway, Bruce Weatherby, Ben and Mary Ellen Baxter, Steve and Barb Hayward, and his shih tzu pup Puff II. Larry was an avid fastball pitcher, playing in Petrolia, Sarnia, and Michigan. He was introduced into the Sarnia-Lambton Sports Hall of Fame (1992). After hanging up his spikes, he loved the game of golf, playing in Petrolia, Greenwood and Sawmill. When Larry retired from Nova Chemicals, he and Mary spent 17 winters in Florida where they will be missed by his “Forbes Friday” group and reading of the score cards at the “Happy Hours”. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tong, Dr. Lilly, the palliative care team, and his nurse Roberta. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Larry’s wishes, there will be no service held. Sympathy may be expressed through donation to Sarnia & District Humane Society or Bluewater Health – Palliative (cheques only at the funeral home please) Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
