Peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Catherine Elizabeth Shanahan passed away at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Daniel Shanahan (49 years married). Loving mother of Sharleen (Paul) Leone. Cherished grandmother of Jestyn Leone (Kris-Lynn Mirault), Jayla Leone (Mitchell Hart), and Lexie Leone (Kristian Ramsay), and great-grandmother of Rylan Leone and Daxton Leone. Dear sister of Marlene (Rick) Burns, Debbie (Greg) Martin, Trevor (Shelley) Chuter, Edna (Terry) Elliot, Hazel Anne (Glen) Saint, Jim (Rose) Shanahan, Tommy (Pearl) Shanahan, Pat (Reta) Shanahan, Donald (Leota) Shanahan, Maurice, Butch, Johnny. Best friends to Gary and Florence Elliott. Predeceased by parents Harvey and Audrey Chuter, and in-laws Hazel and Wit Shanahan. Catherine was a nurse. She loved spending time with her Grandchildren/Great grandsons, family card nights, crosswords, and family reunions each summer. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Catherine’s wishes, no services will be held. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please).
