It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Dorothy Jean Dupuis (nee Neathway) at Bluewater Health, in Sarnia, on June 21, 2025, at 80 years of age. As a mother of five, grandmother of thirteen and great grandmother of seventeen, Dorothy instilled her strong values and religious beliefs in her family. Dorothy dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her beloved husband Ken of 62 years. She was a Cherished mother of Melinda Doan (Steve), the late Kenny Dupuis, Holly Lough (Tom), Doug Dupuis (Annette) and Candy Heard (the late Wayne). Loving grandmother to Jessica, Kate, Larissa, Kyle, Dylon, Trenton, Tabi, Ashley, Kalib, Brittany, Natasha, Lindsay and Julian. Great grandmother to Hailey, Lucas, Bryanna, Brilynn, Hayden, Brooklyn, Joel, Logan, Madison, Mathew, Juliette, Avalee, Emily, Owen, Maia and Grayson. Dear sister of the late Walt, the late Ron (Annette), the late Shirley Valley (Pat), Evelyn Portiss (the late Joe), Fred (Judy), and Barb Hamilton (the late Bob). Predeceased by her parents Fred and Jean Neathway. Dorothy’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and playing cards with her friends. Her homemade pies, cabbage rolls & perogies were legendary at her holiday gatherings and eagerly anticipated by everyone. Her unwavering faith guided her life and her approach to motherhood. She will be sorely missed by us and by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ginette Villemaire, Charlene Workman and Pat Kimball, for their loving care and support during her time in palliative care, as well as to the many visitors whose presence she so appreciated. Special thanks also to Dr. Kim, Dr. Aue (resident) and the compassionate staff of the Bluewater Health Palliative Team for their exceptional care and kindness during her final weeks. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Huron Baptist Church, 1285 Michigan Ave., Sarnia, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with family and friends being welcomed from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Dorothy Dupuis be directed to "Palliative Care Unit," "The Music Therapy Fund" in care of Bluewater Health Foundation, 89 Norman Street, Sarnia, (519) 464-4408 (cheques only at the funeral home please).
