Bluewater Health welcomes new paediatrician

Dr. Hussain Alsaid Ahmad, a neonatal specialist trained in Syria and at McMaster University, joins Bluewater Health after practising in New Brunswick and PEI.

Bluewater Health has welcomed a new paediatrician to its Professional Staff. Dr. Hussain Alsaid Ahmad, who brings specialized training in neonatal medicine and years of experience across Eastern Canada, is now serving patients in Sarnia and Petrolia.

Dr. Alsaid Ahmad earned his medical degree at Aleppo University in Syria and completed paediatric training at Damascus University. He later pursued a fellowship in Neonatal Perinatal Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Before relocating to Sarnia-Lambton, he practised at The Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick and with Health PEI.

“The main reason I chose to join Bluewater Health is the welcoming and supportive hospital staff and community,” Dr. Alsaid Ahmad said. “In addition, there is a good balance between work and family – in other words, a good lifestyle balance with reasonable workload and a flexible schedule.”

In addition to his medical credentials, Dr. Alsaid Ahmad is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and holds a clinical applied research certificate from McMaster University.

“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Alsaid Ahmad to our paediatric team,” said Dr. Mike Haddad, Chief of Staff at Bluewater Health. “His specialized training and broad experience will enhance our ability to provide high-quality paediatric care for families across the region.”
