January 23, 1946 – May 14, 2025 With great sadness and love, we announce the peaceful passing of Tom Michaud, who died on May 14, 2025, surrounded by the comfort of his family. Tom was born and raised in Skead, Ontario, the son of the late Loretta Michaud (née Durocher) and Alex Michaud. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pat Michaud (née Owen), and by his siblings Gloria (DeRoy), Delma (Manning), and Wilfred. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings Theresa (Attle), Delia (Webb), and Margaret (Wheatley). Tom is survived by his children, who were his pride and joy: Michael (Leslie, née Martin), Gregory (Kristi Martin), and Jeffrey (Ivan Meade). He was a proud and steady presence in the lives of his grandchildren, Noah and Ella, and a special uncle to Cindy and Patsy. Tom and Pat raised their family in the small lakeside community of Skead, the village where Tom himself grew up. He passed on a love of nature and simple joys—quiet time outdoors, time with family, and the satisfaction of a good day’s work. A man of deep faith, Tom served for many years as a Minister of the Eucharist at his local Catholic parish, where his quiet devotion and sense of community were deeply felt. A talented drummer and lifelong lover of music, Tom made lasting memories performing with his band, Uncle Duncan and the Jackets, alongside his best friend Larry. Whether behind the drum kit or sharing stories around a table, his rhythm and warmth shaped a life filled with connection and joy. In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no formal service. The family invites you to remember him in your own way—perhaps a walk by the lake, a handful of fresh-picked blueberries, or with a Buddy Holly record playing in the background. Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
