Peacefully on April 13, 2025, Edith Yvonne Burr (nee Adams) passed away, at Vision Nursing Home, at the age of 93.
Loving mother of Patricia (late Brad) and Ken (Jan). Adored grandmother of Michelle (Jess), Susanne (John), Julie (Michael), Alyssia, Bill (Rosie), Brandan (Janelle), Austin and Cory. Dear great-grandmother of Sara, Olivia, Aaron, James, Sophie, Van, Ellie, Melanie, Lydia and Nathan. Mother-in-law to Marion. Special grandmother to many. Predeceased by her husbands James Burr and Donald Hallam and son James Gordon.
Edith was born in Tobermory and moved to Sarnia at the age of 15. Edith met her first husband, James and raised her family in Sarnia. When she retired at 60, she moved back to Tobermory with her second husband, Donald and remained there until she was 80. Edith had a passion for music, which she enjoyed sharing with others. She played the organ at the Tobermory United church for 20 years and the piano every day at Vision Nursing Home.
The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent and compassionate care Edith received from the staff at Vision Nursing Home.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to donate in memory of Edith are asked to consider Vision Nursing Home.
