In his 70th year, Dave Alan Hockridge now rests after a very long, hard-fought battle. A long-time resident of Sarnia, Dave retired from Sarnia Transit where he took pride in his work, his fishing adventures and most of all, his family.
Continuing on without him is his loving wife Elaine of 41 years, his children Bryan (Herizon), Jennifer Mae (Steve), Michelle (Andy) and his stepson Mike, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be missed by his siblings and step-siblings Jo-Anne (Carl), Ron (Joan) and Joseph (Kristen) along with several nieces and nephews. His sister-in-law Barb, and brother-in-laws Wayne (Vicki) and Max. Also missing Dave is his greatest companion Shiva, and his fishing buddies Dana, Stephanie, Dan, Jeffrey, and Alecia.
In heaven, Dave reunites with his best boy Shogun, and his parents Alice and Joseph. His father and mother-in-law Wilfred and Aldeen. His sister Audrey, his step-siblings Edward and Krystle, his nephew Ray and brother-in-laws John, and Ron. His sister-in-law Joan and special cousin Russ.
Dave was blessed in his life to have many lasting friendships, as he was the type of person who made friends everywhere, and he cherished each and every friend.
In keeping with Dave's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. If you'd like to honour Daves's life, a donation to the Sarnia & District Humane Society or the Bluewater Health – Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank-you to the ambulance EMTs, Dr. Lau, and all of the doctors, nurses, and support staff at Bluewater Health for the compassionate care he received.
