Sarnia’s Celebration of Lights organizers are dealing with stolen equipment and damaged displays just days before Saturday’s opening ceremonies.

Sarnia’s beloved Celebration of Lights is facing unexpected hurdles in the days leading up to its highly anticipated opening ceremonies this Saturday, November 30, after the theft of key equipment and damage to parts of the display.
According to organizer Dean Holtz, the projector for the DJ Dance Floor Display was stolen, its protective box was thrown into the river, and several extension cords were unplugged, removed, or damaged.

“We’re trying hard to have everything ready for Saturday night’s opening ceremonies, but this presents challenges,” said Holtz.
The event is planned to begin at 5 p.m. at Centennial Park, kicking off the holiday season with a lineup of festive activities:
