On November 13, 2024, Sidney Cooper, beloved child of God, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, at the age of 94. On March 8, 1930, Sidney was born in Clifton, New Jersey to Samuel and Anna Cooper, the 9th of 10 children. He attended Calvin College in MI, Westminster Seminary in PA and earned his doctorandus in Divinity at the Free University in Amsterdam. He dedicated his life to being a faithful servant of his Saviour, Jesus Christ and was honoured to wash the feet of others in Jesus name. Loved and respected by many, he served in multiple Reformed and Christian Reformed churches around North America and New Zealand with his beloved lifelong partner, Janice (2011). He was a man of strong character, a wise and confident leader who both breathed and modelled his deep convictions. He will be dearly missed by his 6 children, Kathlyn (Louis), Sara (Ted), Beth-Anne (Ken), Ross (Sandy), Todd (Ingrid), Andrew (Cheryl), his 16 children and 24 great grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather at the First Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Exmouth St., Sarnia, on Friday evening, November 22, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A celebration for Sidney’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 23 also at the church.
