Peacefully with her children and granddaughters by her side, Florence Mabel Gardiner passed away November 13th 2024 at the age of 84.
Treasured wife of Don “Toad” Gardiner (2003), best mom to Mike (Melinda) and Sheri (Todd).
Grandmar to her beloved angel Eric (2024), Nicole, Erikah (Blake), Paris (Cameron), Krysten and Great Grandmar to Crystal.
Dear sister to Peter (Anne), Russ (June) and Shirley (Bob 2021). Aunt Mabel was adored and certainly will be missed by her Gilliland nieces and also “Mabel Mabel” to her adoptive grandkids Justin, Jaime, Holden and Faris Hayes.
Mabel grew up in a small town of Brigden Farm area, and lived an incredible life whether she was at many baseball diamonds cheering on her son Mike, playing cards, baking, spending time with her family and grandchildren and always being a best friend to Sheri. Mabel enjoyed working at AMSS & Lakeroad school where she spent many years helping children and creating memories with her students and peers.
She loved baking, her specialties were pies, birthday cakes and her famous Chelsea buns at Christmas.
She loved riding motorcycles, going to her grandkids sporting events and traveling the world with family. Mabel volunteered countless hours to the SMAA baseball, Sarnia Sports and Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Sarnia Sports Hall of fame along with our dad (Don) in 2004 under the Builders award.
She will forever be in our hearts and we would like to thank Dr Van As, Kelly and Paul Haggerty, Dr Allison Crombeen and all the amazing nurses that helped make this journey easier for her in the short time that she was in Palliative care. To Evelyn Trumble and Laurel Lester there are no words or ways we can repay you for all your compassion, care and friendship you had for our mom, she loved you both so much.
In honour of Mabel’s wishes there will be no funeral service but a celebration of Mabel's life will be held at The Navy Club, 1420 Lougar Ave, Sarnia, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30th, 2024.
Paying it forward like she did donations to “That Girls Got Moxie”, BWH Palliative care or an organization of your choice.
Mom…. Grandmar…. We love you to the moon and back
