It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Edith Corbett, who died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the age of 81 at Lambton Meadowview Villa in Petrolia. Arlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Arlene was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert "Bob" Corbett. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Nelson, her daughter Kelly Smith of Wyoming, ON, her granddaughter, Kaitlynn Smith and her husband Jordan Button and their children Jaxson, Benjamin, and Delilah; and her son Adam (Pamela) Corbett of Edmonton.
Arlene also cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, especially with her granddaughter Kaitlynn who was a great source of joy in her live and she loved her as if she were her own daughter. When she became a great-grandmother, her heart grew even fuller, embracing her great-grandchildren with boundless love and affection.
She will also be fondly remembered by Don’s children and grandchildren, and she was predeceased by her sister, Nancy (Ron) Jamieson, and her parents, Thomas and Edith Armour.
Arlene was proud of her children and loved her family dearly. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League and the Wyoming Legion, where she made many close friends and was known for her kind and caring nature.
Arlene’s family takes comfort knowing her love will continue to live on in their hearts. Arlene will be missed, but her love and warmth will stay with us forever. Rest in peace, Arlene.
Cremation has taken place. A private interment in Wyoming Cemetery at a later date.
