Peacefully, in his sleep, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Twin Lakes Terrace Nursing Home, David Halliday passed away at the age of 79. Beloved husband of the late Grace Halliday. Loving father of Timothy (Penny) Halliday, Melody Halliday, Karen (Brad) Sagert, Kathryn (Steve) Belval. Cherished grandfather of Austin, Elizabeth, Mikayla (Nash), Tristan (Alex), Grace, Jacob. Treasured great-grandfather to Eleanor. Dear brother to Rosemary, Robert and Laura. Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Marjorie Halliday. David's passion for farming was matched only by his dedication to helping others. He consistently lent a helping hand throughout the community, volunteering his time and skills. David was an inaugural member of Bluewater Baptist Church, exemplifying his unwavering faith. He was also the handyman for Bluewater Baptist Church, always eager to give back and support those around him. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Bluewater Baptist Church, 1256 Wellington St, Sarnia, on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Bluewater Baptist Church (cheques only at the funeral home please).
