It is with great sadness that the family of “Bev” Thelma Burrell Vander Linden (nee Clark) of Sarnia, announce her sudden passing on the evening of Monday, August 26, 2024 at Bluewater Health surrounded by the love of her family.  Bev is survived by her beloved husband Ronald Vander Linden, daughter Sharon Vanderlinden and husband Raymond Gentleman, of Nanaimo, British Columbia and son Derek Van Der Linden and his wife Barb of Stratford.  Treasured Nana of Alana Gentleman, Lauren Van Der Linden and partner Adriana Herrera and Ryan Van Der Linden and husband Jeff Williamson.

Bev was born in Notre-dame-de-Grace, Montreal, Quebec to parents Richard and Janet Clark (nee Boyd) where she spent her early years.  She met her husband Ron at his senior high school dance and he fell in love with her the moment he saw her beautiful face.  He walked her home that evening, and that was the beginning of their wonderful love story.  They later married, and built a home on Mater drive where they enjoyed sixty nine happy years together as well as their cottage near Parry Sound where they met with friends, and family enjoyed many a delicious bass dinner, numerous early morning fishing trips and special time making memories.  Bev was an elegant lady, always looking fabulous.  She and Ron loved to entertain, hosting many dinner parties and enjoying great times with their many friends and neighbours with whom they enjoyed lifelong friendships. Bev’s dinner table and home were a reflection of her attention to detail and superb taste.  She was a phenomenal cook and baker, but her true passion was her yard and garden which, with the help of Ron, always looked immaculate.  She will be dearly missed, but her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren who will remember her with love, and will treasure their sweet memories of her always.

Cremation has taken place, and the family will be remembering Bev with a private family celebration of life. The family wishes to thank Dr. A. Bhalla and nurse Emily for their wonderful, compassionate care of both Bev and her family during her short stay at Bluewater Health.  Your kindness and exceptional compassion will always be remembered.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you plant something beautiful in your garden in memory of Bev or respectfully suggest charitable donations to: Bluewater Health Foundation or a charity of your choice.
