William was born in Mooretown, Ontario to Aart and Stientje Grift. He enjoyed his puppies, adventures on the farm with his siblings and learning to play the accordion as a young boy as well as his passion for automobiles. He will always be remembered for his fun loving nature and mischievous twinkle in his eyes. His gentle and kind way was noticed by all, as well as his love for apple fritters.
William is survived by his wife Bernadette Grift, and his daughters Sarah Grift, Catherine (Michael) Gallaway and his grandson Roman. As well as his brothers Alfred (Bonnie) Grift and Art (Krystal) and his sisters Joanne (Larry) Rivait and Grace Grift Annett. Also remembered by sisters-in-law Diane Healey-King (Brad), Margaret Milam (Ron), Patricia Healey, Kathleen Jadischke (Art) and predeceased by Carmen Marie Anderson. William is predeceased by his father Aart Grift and is survived by his mother Stientje Grift. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their children.
The family has made private funeral arrangements. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer society, as well as the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
