Lambton OPP are asking for the public’s help following an unusual discovery earlier this year — an urn containing ashes.
Police say officers were called to a home along St. Clair Parkway in St. Clair Township on January 9 and were “handed a small urn recovered from the St. Clair River.”
“The only identifying marking on the urn is a tag stating Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Ohio,” police said in a news release, adding that Attempts to locate and identify the owner of the urn have been unsuccessful. “The OPP is now asking for the public's assistance in identifying the owners of the urn to return these remains back to their loved ones.”
