Smith- Daulphine Ruth Smith, age 90 years of Sarnia died in Sarnia on Sunday June 2, 2024. She is survived by; her husband of 67 years, Don Smith; her daughter, Stacey Smith and by her grandchildren, Ash Moore (Scott Moore) and Jesse Smith-Adam. Daulphine is predeceased by; her mother, Martha Riddle; her sister, Pauline Riddle and by her brother, Don Riddle. Daulphine was proud to be the Travel Co-ordinator for Dow Chemical. Throughout her life, she worked to help others in various groups and organizations locally and provincially. Her leadership was appreciated in Palliative Care, the Kidney Foundation, IODE, C.G.I.T., United Church Sunday School, Daughters of The Nile, and Rebekah Lodge. Daulphine’s contributions to these numerous organizations were recognized as a recipient of the Mayor’s Honour List. Socializing, supporting community organizations and helping others were her biggest passions in life. Daulphine’s family is grateful for the kind and compassionate care she received from Dr. David Kim, his staff and everyone at St.Joseph’s Hospice as well as by many of the VON’s personal support workers over the last three years. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family funeral has been arranged. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may consider making a memorial donation in Daulphine’s name to the Lambton Shrine Club or St. Joseph’s Hospice of Sarnia.
