On Friday, May 24th, 2024, Ruth Ann Alice Cook passed away peacefully in the care of Bluewater Health at the age of 80. After a courageous ten-year battle with leukemia, she has joined her Lord and Savior. Loving mother of Rick Cook (Dianne), Kristi Cook, Connie Hart (Dean), Kelly Westra (Bill), Jeff Cook (Alison), and Dan Cook. Cherished Grandmother to Terri Hart (Christian), Nicole Hart, Lance Hart (Alicia), Travis Hart (Chelsey), Luke Cook (Jill), Jared Cook (Monique), Julie Devet (Johnny), Megan Westra, Stephen Westra, Jordan Cook. Treasured Great Grandmother of 18 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Carol Ann McKenzie, Ken Huber. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Isabel Huber, sisters Gloria Dupuis and brother-in-law Robert Dupuis, Eleanor Bruner and brother-in-law Gerry Bruner, and brother Vernon Huber. Ruth was a compassionate personal support worker for 30 years. She was a devout catholic whose faith was the foundation of her life. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Throughout her illness Ruth was the recipient of many blood and platelet transfusions. The family would appreciate any blood donations made in her honour. Donations may also be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca.
