With profound sorrow, we share the sudden passing of Robert Clark Hart, affectionately known by many as “Bob”. Bob was a devoted husband of 33 years to his beloved wife Sheila. He took immense pride in his role as a father to Serge and cherished his stepdaughter Kim deeply. Among his greatest joys were his grandchildren Emma, Kasey, Jennifer, and Shannon. Dear brother of Richard (Lucy) Hart, Shirley Kleeber, Kathie (Gerry) Lalonde, and the late Jim and Ken Hart. Bob dedicated numerous years to his career with the Insulator Union – Local 95, where his commitment and hard work were evident to all who knew him. Beyond his professional life, Bob found solace and joy in music and the company of friends, particularly through spirited card games. A pillar of his community, Bob's generosity knew no bounds. He served as a steadfast mentor, spending over 30 years as a Big Brother to Jesse Pyke and over 20 years to Jake Garvin. His selflessness extended beyond mentoring, as he devoted countless hours over 32 years driving cancer patients to London for treatment, working tirelessly at the soup kitchen for 28 years, and offering support at the Salvation Army drop-in center for 11 years. Together with his beloved wife, Bob embarked on adventures that spanned the globe, exploring 171 countries and indulging in over 100 cruises, creating cherished memories along the way. In accordance with his wishes, Bob has been cremated. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. At a later date, a celebration of his remarkable life will take place at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, where friends and loved ones will gather to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to March of Dimes or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton (cheques only at the funeral home please).
