It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of William (Billy) Best at home on April 27/2024. He fought a cancer diagnosis with unwavering optimism, strength and determination. He will be forever missed by his wife and best friend Gail (Poirier) Best. Loving father of Jamie (Michelle) Best, Mandie (Kyle) Vanderwal, Joel (Katie) Best and Christine Larose. Proud grandfather of Lucy, Olivia, Charlotte, Adeline, Abigail and Aubrianna. Dear brother of Carl Best. He will be dearly missed by his two furry pets, Taffy and Toby. Also survived by nieces and nephews and Ken (Debbie) Best. Predeceased by his parents Reg (Donna) Best, and Elizabeth (Robert) Pryor. Billy was an avid car enthusiast, an extremely hard-worker, and very mechanically inclined. He started tinkering with motors at a very young age and started his own auto repair business (Best Automotive), which his son Jamie has taken over very successfully. He always owned a sports car, beginning with 3 AMC Rebel machines to his latest pride and joy his 2003 Z06 C5 Corvette. He was a man who was always willing to help anyone. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends, but his kindness and generosity are what will be remembered, by all those fortunate enough to know him.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Paul Martin, Dr. Ricardo Fernandes, Dr. David Kim, Dr. David Sherwin and the VON nurses, for their exceptional care. A special thank you to Ray Lucas (Cathy) for his friendship and support.

Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Bill's wishes, a small family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the St. Joseph's Hospice or Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home, please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line.
