Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at London Health Sciences Centre, Ronald “Ron” George Taylor passed away at the age of 87.
Beloved husband of the late Rosilyn Taylor and Gwen Taylor. Loving father of Ron Taylor Jr. (Selene), Carol, Brazeau (Richard), Paul Taylor (Sophia), and Mark Taylor (Maria). Cherished grandfather of Denver, Cody and Jewell, Adam (Karlee) and Kalie, Erin and Lauren (Adam), Jessica, Ryan and Jennifer. Treasured great grandfather of Layla, Millee, Huni and one on the way. Dear brother of Bill (Lynn), Ginny (Henry) and Paula. Caring step-father of Marion Browning (Merlyn), Raymond Peters (Jen), Jane Duffenais (Craig) and Ann Ewing (Rodney). He will be lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents George and Paula Taylor, step-father Frank and his sister Pat (Don).
Ron was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force before starting is 40 year career at Dow Chemical. He had a fond love of the outdoors and loved to spend his free time kayaking and playing tennis. Ron kept very active as he took part in the Fathers Day Run for many years and was a member in the local bowling league. Above all, Ron was a family man and never missed a grandchild’s birthday. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with family and friends being received one hour prior at 10:00 a.m.
