ARTS, Leo

Leo Arts will be missed and forever remembered by his best friend and loving wife Francien. Cherished father of Helen Arts-Smith & Larry Smith, Leona & Scoop Williams, Deb Arts, Roxanne & John Riddell, Donna Rose & Mike Arnold. Devoted grandfather of Michael (Jossi) Smith, Melissa (Bob) Hooey, Meaghan (Josh) Black, Lee (Andrea) Smith, Lindsay (Colt) King, Ashley (Jace) Gordon, Abby & Ben Riddell. Proud great-grandfather of Ayden & Alyssa, William & Scarlett, Elias & Adeline, Cayden & Dean, Aurora & Rehya. He was an admired member of both the Arts and Vanderburgt families.

Always a kind, loving, and devoted family man, Leo extended his kindness to neighbours and friends. He enjoyed dancing, shuffleboard, playing cards, and generously gifting his amazing intarsia and woodworking crafts. Most of all, Leo loved to share every aspect of his life with his loving wife of 70 years.

Leo faced many health challenges throughout his life with acceptance and resilience and he was always grateful for the compassion and care given to him by his devoted wife. He inspired family, friends, and neighbours to join him in raising awareness and funds for the Terry Fox Foundation. Special thanks to the team of health care professionals including the Palliative Care team on the 4th floor at Bluewater Health.

A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. from St Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 1920 Wildwood Dr, Brights Grove, ON.
