Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Afton Park Place, Joan Phillips passed away at the age of 90. She is now enjoying the company of her beloved Harold and daughter Vicki in Paradise. Beloved wife of the late Harold Phillips (2012). Loving mother to Fred (Meloney), the late Vicki in 2002 (David aka Gus), Perry (Connie), Jeffrey (Kelley). Cherished grandmother to Raymond, Cheri (Rick), Amy (Matthew), Abby (Derik), Matthew, Leigh, Zachary (Margaret), Wesley and Brandon (Kristy) and 12 great grandchildren. Treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews in the Phillips and Claeys family. Dear sister-in-law to Robert and Gail Lovell. Predeceased by parents Maurice and Hazel Claeys, sisters Dory and Betty, brothers Robert, James, and Ken. Sisters-in-law Elva McDonald, Angie Claeys, and Mary Helen Claeys. Mom was a long time lawn bowler. She also loved to garden, read her bible and sing the old time hymns. She enjoyed being a stay at home mom and baking for her family. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with funeral service held at Smith Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. on Monday Jan.29. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club or the Alzheimer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please). Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home.
