A winter weather travel advisory has been issued for Sarnia and Lambton County as a winter storm makes its way through southern Ontario this weekend.
Environment Canada says snow is forecast to begin Friday afternoon and will be heavy at times before transitioning to rain into the evening.
“Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly,” an alert noted. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.”
Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations near 5 cm can be expected, Environment Canada said, adding that strong wind gusts may resulting in significantly reduced visibility in blowing snow.
