The Corunna area has recorded another earthquake.

Residents along the St. Clair River may have heard a loud bang or felt a bit shaken up Wednesday morning, as Earthquakes Canada confirmed a 2.5-magnitude earthquake about 2km WSW of Corunna at 9:47 a.m.

A report from CBS Detroit said the event was also felt in St. Clair County and northeast Macomb County in Michigan.

This marks the fourth earthquake in the area in about 18 months.

Another 2.5-magnitude seismic earthquake was confirmed Oct. 19, 2023 — about 3km NE of Corunna — while similar sized earthquakes were recorded on Nov. 20, 2022, and May 23, 2022.
