A 29-year-old Sarnia man was arrested in connection to a bank robbery this week, police say.
The incident occurred at the London Road CIBC Branch in Sarnia on Monday, Dec. 18, when a lone male suspect entered the bank, demanding cash.
“The male suspect was wearing a dark hoodie pulled up high and had a mask partially covering his face,” police said in a news release. “Members of the Sarnia Police Service located the suspect who was arrested without incident a short time later.”
The accused faces charges of: robbery; disguise with intent; and failure to comply with probation.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect also had outstanding warrants for: fraud under $5,000; possession of a debit card obtained by crime; use of property (debit card) with intent; and failure to comply with probation.
The suspect has been remanded into custody with a court date in Jan. 2024.
