CAMANO, Dorothy

Dorothy passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. If Dorothy wasn't cooking for you she was asking what you were going to cook. Dorothy spent much of her time feeding and caring for her family and communities. A longtime caretaker at Errol Public School, affectionately known as "Mrs. C" by the students, before volunteering for years at the Inn of the Good Shepherd in Sarnia. Dorothy and her husband Manny were active members of the Camlachie Optimist Club where they both embodied the true spirit of Service.

Dorothy is going home to be with her husband Manny, her parents Bill and Sarah and siblings, beloved brother Billy, her sister in law Judy and nephew Doug (Gord) and granddaughter Victoria (Ted).

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her family; eldest son Jim, his wife Elizabeth and daughter Aurora, son Ted and children Jessica and Scotty, daughter Debbie and her girls Crystal and Stacy, daughter Laurie and her husband Brian and daughter Kelly, youngest son Bob and his wife Sara and brother in law Gord Camano and his son Dave and wife Jenifer. Dorothy loved her "little people" and was a favourite "Nanny Grandma" among the great grandchildren.

Dorothy spent the last few years feeling safe and content at Vision nursing home in Sarnia. The family expresses sincere gratitude to the Erie Unit staff for the care Dorothy received while there.

Dorothy would truly love you to share a good meal with your family. Any donations made in Dorothy's name could go to the Inn of the Good Shepherd (cheques only at the funeral home please). A private graveside will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, 1016 Colborne Rd, Sarnia. Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home.
