A 34-year-old Sarnia woman has been charged in connection with a multi-vehicle collision that claimed two lives and injured another on Highway 402 last month.
In a news release issued Wednesday, Lambton OPP say the woman was arrested Tuesday evening, and faces two counts of dangerous driving causing death, and one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
The fatal collision occurred just before 2 p.m. on Oct. 2, when emergency crews — including Lambton OPP officers, Sarnia Fire & Rescue and Lambton EMS — responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 402 near Modeland Road in Sarnia.

“The driver and passenger of one involved vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene,” Lambton OPP said on a news release. “Another involved individual sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.”
The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team attended the scene to assist with the investigation, and the westbound lanes of Highway 402 were closed for the investigation and reopened around 1 a.m. on October 3.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area during the event is asked to contact Lambton County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia at a later date.
