Residents near the Shell Manufacturing Centre in Corunna may notice increased flaring and noise as planned maintenance activities are underway, the company said, Wednesday.
“It is important to note the flare system is a process safety device and is a normal and vital part of unit shutdown and start-up activities,” a notice from Lambton Alerts stated. “All safety precautions and standard regulatory protocols will be followed.”
“Required notifications will be issued and updated as needed.”
