Beginning today (Wednesday) through to Sunday, residents can expect increased flaring and noise at the Shell Manufacturing Centre in Corunna, the company says, pointing to a “period of planned maintenance.”
“At this time, there is no action required from the community as a result of these activities,” Shell stated in a notification. “It is important to note the flare system is a process safety device at the refinery and is a normal and vital part of unit shutdown and start-up activities.”
