The Sarnia Sting have a 2-0 series lead over the Saginaw Spirit after back-to-back wins at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena over the weekend.

After cruising to a 3-0 victory Friday night, Sarnia won 2-1 in overtime Sunday afternoon in Game 2 of the OHL Western Conference Semi-Finals.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Ty Voit opened the scoring with a powerplay goal in the first period and the Sting held on to the 1-0 lead until Saginaw’s Matyas Sapovaliv scored to tie the game with just 39 seconds remaining in the third period.

The Sting’s Luca Del Bel Belluz scored to take the overtime win.

The series shifts to the Dow Event Center in Saginaw, Michigan, Tuesday April 18 (7:05 p.m.) and Thursday, April 20 (7:05 p.m.)
