A Sarnia Police officer has been placed on administrative suspension after criminal charges were laid by Lambton OPP, according to a news release issued late Friday.

Sarnia Police said the service was informed Wednesday of an off-duty incident involving an officer; as a result, Lambton OPP has laid criminal charges against Sarnia Police Constable Jeremy Wilde.

“Chief Derek Davis has placed Constable Wilde under administrative suspension pursuant to the provisions of the Police Services Act until the investigation and/or any related hearing processes have been concluded,” the news release noted.

“Inquiries pertaining to the criminal matters should be directed to Lambton OPP.”
