Donations of new, unwrapped books are now being accepted for Literacy Lambton’s annual holiday Give-a-Book campaign.
Each year, the agency partners with community groups to collect hundreds of books to ensure local youngsters — from babies, to age 18 — can “experience the joy of unwrapping a new book.”
Now, through to Dec. 6, donations of new, unwrapped books can be dropped off at: Literacy Lambton’s office in the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Centre; Coles Bookstore in the Lambton Mall, and The Book Keeper in Northgate Plaza, where they’re offering a 20% discount for books purchased and donated at their location.
Donors can also help village-specific gaps by donating on-line (and receive a printable tax receipt for donations $25+) by visiting www.literacylambton.org.
Last year, Give-a-Book 2021 saw more than 3,100 books distributed through 26 local agencies. Literacy Lambton says they surpassed 3,000 thanks to private donors, service clubs and a number of area book clubs who supported the campaign.
