It’s been a grand slam of a month for Sarnia Braves first baseman Vince Caschera.
The Goshen College prospect cleared the bases twice in July with grand slam home runs against the Strathroy Royals on July 3 and Etobicoke Rangers July 6 at the Lakeside AAA Invitational Tournament.
Caschera boasts a .438 batting average and 21 RBIs on the season.
The Sarnia Braves took silver at the Lakeside tournament in London. Sarnia’s AAA club lost the final 4-1 to 2018 provincial champion Tecumseh Thunder — their only loss of the tournament — and finished the four-day meet with a 4-1-1 record.
The Braves remain in top spot in the Southwestern Senior Baseball league, and this week face St. Thomas, Strathroy and Ilderton.
