City council has approved an agreement with Bluewater Power that will see rooftop solar panels installed at Sarnia Harbour and the Bluewater Gymnastics building in Lottie Neely Park.
The panels are expected to generate up to 10 kWs of electricity for the power grid.
The city will receive revenue of $50,000 over the life of the 20-year contract, and the utility will gain experience in rooftop solar installation and maintenance, officials said.
