A slam-dunk artist and his pals wowed a capacity crowd at St. Clair Secondary for a good cause on Feb. 19.

Jordan Kilganon was fresh off a showcase appearance that the NBA all-star game in Toronto in which his “scorpion dunk” stole the show when he arrived in Sarnia.

The international TV exposure made the 23-year-old Sudbury native a global online phenomenon, and he didn’t disappoint.

Following some shooting contests involving local high school athletes, Kilganon and fellow dunk artists Sherman Su and Thain Vandyke put on an aerial clinic before a crowd that filled the bleachers, stage and standing area.

The visit was facilitated by St. Clair basketball coach Justin Brogden, who had coached the teenaged Kilganon when he lived in Sudbury.

As Brogden told The Journal, some of Kilganon’s YouTube videos have more than 10 million view.

When it was over, the event had raised $3,200 for the United Way of Sarnia-Lambton.
