The United Way’s record-breaking campaign of 2015 is having an immediate impact. With more than $2 million raised, three new programs have been granted funding and 10 more the agency already supports will get a raise over the next three years.

With more than $2 million raised, three new programs have been granted funding and 10 more the agency already supports will get a raise over the next three years.
Overall, the largest grant recipients included counselling services at the Family Counselling Centre ($170,200), Big Brothers Big Sisters matching program ($84,000), CNIB vision rehabilitation ($54,121) and transportation at Lambton Elderly Outreach ($53,000).
The three new programs to get funding are Suicide Prevention (Canadian Mental Health Association), Opening Doors (North Lambton Community Health) and Choices Jr. (Rebound).
The lion’s share of money goes to help programs for youth, seniors and families.
